NATATORIUM POOL PARTY

The Boise Y Swim Team has reserved the Natatorium for a private pool party to be held Sunday, July 26th from 6-8 p.m.  All swimmers and their families are invited to attend an evening of unlimited slides down the Hydrotube and fun and games in the pool.

The entry fee will be $4/person or $15 per family.  If you are a member in good standing (are current on your bill), you may charge the fee to your swim team account.  Otherwise, please plan to pay at the door.

SNAKE RIVER SUMMER LONG COURSE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The annual Snake River Summer Long Course Championships will be held at the Boise City Aquatic Center, July 31-August 2, 2009.  Meet information for Visiting Teams and Boise Y Swimmers has been posted and can be found on the special SRS Champs link on the left.  A list of eligible events for Boise Y Swimmers is also posted.

The meet does have time standards in most events (depends on age group).  The meet is a prelims/finals format with prelims being swum in the morning and finals in the evening.

We will need the help of all Boise Y Swim Team families to host this meet.  Please take the time to sign up for a timing shift or other volunteer job.  Instructions for signing up for a specific timing shift using the Qlubb site can be found in the July newsletter.  The Qlubb site address is:  http://boiseyswimteam.qlubb.com/qlubbs/login.

2009 BOISE YMCA SWIM TEAM FALL RETREAT
PARADISE POINT - MCCALL, ID
AUGUST 29-30, 2009

It is time to start thinking about our annual Fall Retreat which well be held in McCall the weekend of August 29-30.  This is a great team building activity for all ages.  The retreat fee this year is $65.  Transportation will be provided and swimmers who have done Aquathon at their suggested level will receive a discount of approximately 1/2 the regular bus fare.

Because space at Paradise Point is limited, participants must be active, dues paying members of the swim team and must have paid August dues.  Swimmers on leave for the month of August are eligible to attend providing they have submitted a Leave of Absence form to the Team Admin (not to the coaching staff) by the July 25th deadline.

Please go through the registration document carefully and follow the directions which can be found within the document.  Don't forget to send your $65 payment in with your completed forms.

This is the last meet to get qualifying times for the Snake River Summer Championships.  The meet will be held at the Twin Falls City Pool which is a 50 meter, 8 lane, outdoor pool.

Please Note:  There will be no afternoon practices on all Tuesdays between June 16 and July 14 due to the City Rec meets.

Welcome New Swim Team Members!

We would like to welcome all new swimmers to the Boise Y Swim Team.  The 2009 Information & Registration Packet can be found by following the Team Information link.  Look under "Team Registration".   New swimmers may try-out the team for two weeks free of charge but registration packets must sent to the Team Admin after your first week of practice.  Registrations will  be processed upon receipt.  If you have questions about joining the team after reading the Information Packet, please email the Boise Y Swim Team or contact one of the coaches.

Financial assistance is available for swim team monthly dues.  No child is ever turned away due to the inability to pay.

(This registration process is for the Y MCA competitive team only.  Recreational swimmers should check with the Aquatics Department at the West Y for practice schedules and other pertinent information regarding the Y's seasonal swim team program.)
